Privacy policy

Bling Wraps respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it secure when you use our gifting services.

Who We Are And When This Policy Applies

This privacy policy applies to Bling Wraps, operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd, in respect of our Sandton studio and our gifting points in Cape Town and Durban. It applies to information collected through email, telephone, quotations, order forms, delivery coordination, and in person when you place an order or enquire about our services.

By sharing your details with us you consent to us processing them for legitimate business purposes related to gift wrapping, hamper curation, wedding favour styling, corporate gifting programmes and related support. If you deal with us on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to share that information.

Information We Collect For Gifting And Delivery

We collect only the information we need to provide the service properly. This may include your name, contact details, delivery address, invoice details, event date, gift preferences and any notes you ask us to include with a parcel. For corporate and bulk orders we may also record company registration details, recipient lists and branding instructions.

  • Contact details such as your name, phone number and email address
  • Order details, delivery instructions and collection requests
  • Payment and invoice records where needed for administration
  • Event and recipient information for hampers, favours and bulk packing

We do not ask for unnecessary personal information and we do not collect special personal information unless it is required for a specific request and you have chosen to provide it.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your information to process orders, confirm stock availability, prepare quotations, coordinate collection or delivery, and communicate with you about your order status. We may also use it to manage seasonal gifting plans, assist with repeat corporate accounts, and keep proper records for accounting and tax purposes.

We may contact you by email or phone to resolve a query, confirm instructions, or arrange delivery. Where required we may share information with trusted service providers, including couriers, printers, payment processors and professional advisers, so they can support the service. They are expected to handle information confidentially and only for the agreed purpose.

Security, Retention And Access Control

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or alteration. Access is limited to staff members who need the information to carry out their work, including our Managing Director, operations, client care and corporate gifting teams. Records are kept for as long as needed for the order, legal compliance and normal business administration.

  • Access controls for internal files and client records
  • Secure handling of order notes, addresses and recipient lists
  • Retention of tax and invoice records for the required period
  • Restricted disclosure unless there is a lawful reason to share

While we take care with all personal data, no method of transmission over email or electronic storage is completely risk free and we therefore ask clients to share sensitive details only when necessary.

Your POPIA Rights And How To Exercise Them

You may ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information, to correct inaccurate details, or to request that we delete information where the law allows. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent was the basis for processing, subject to legal and contractual requirements.

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or update your details
  • Object to direct marketing communications
  • Request deletion where retention is no longer required by law

To exercise these rights, send us a message through our contact form. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request. If you believe your information has been handled improperly, you may also raise a complaint with the Information Regulator in South Africa.
